We are incredibly proud of our school and its strong anti-bullying culture!
We believe that Meriden CE School exists to provide the opportunities for each individual child to realise his or her potential to the fullest possible extent, whatever his or her particular needs and abilities. We aim to provide a safe and secure environment where all can learn without anxiety and measures are in place to reduce the likelihood of bullying. We therefore do all we can to prevent it by developing a school ethos in which bullying is regarded as unacceptable. We use the internationally recognised 'KiVa' program which is an evidence-based program to prevent bullying and to tackle the cases of bullying effectively.
Our values above are built on mutual trust and respect for all; it is essential that every member of the school community feels valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly, is happy and safe. Our school promotes good relationships, so that we can all work together with the common purpose of helping everyone to learn. We follow a positive approach to behaviour, rewarding good behaviour, as we believe that this will develop an ethos of kindness and cooperation.
We proudly achieved the accolade of becoming an International Cross of Nails School for our work around Anti Bullying, bringing peace and reconciliation in our own community.
We are thrilled to have received The BIG Award (Bullying Intervention Group) for excellence in bullying intervention.
